A Brand Identity That Feels Like a Familiar Memory

This wasn’t just a logo — it was a complete identity built around one feeling: “you’ve had this coffee before.”

The Challenge

Deja Brew Cafe needed an identity built around a single idea: that unmistakable feeling of familiarity — like you’ve had this exact coffee before, somewhere, sometime. Without a defined visual language, the brand risked blending into the crowded café market instead of standing out with its own nostalgic, vintage character. They needed a cohesive identity that could live everywhere — from the cup in a customer’s hand to the bag they carry home.

Our Approach

We built the identity around a vintage, film-noir-inspired illustration of a couple sharing coffee — instantly evocative, warm, and memorable. The wordmark itself carries the concept forward: a coffee bean woven directly into the “A” of “Deja Brew,” tying the name, the logo, and the brand feeling into one seamless mark. From there, we extended the system across every physical touchpoint a customer could hold.
